The BBC has been accused of insensitivity over plans to broadcast the final breath of a dying man on television next month. The programme will show the passing of Gerald, an 84-year-old cancer patient, in a Kent hospice surrounded by his family. It follows the corporations decision to screen the last moments of a terminally ill man in an assisted suicide clinic in a documentary presented by Sir Terry Pratchett. Geralds death is the focus of the second episode of Inside the Human Body, a four-part science series examining life from the moment of conception to the end. Telegraph
