LAHORE The wrong decisions of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) present and past managements and the previous cricket chiefs have brought the cricket in country at the lowest ebb and destroying cricket in the country. These views were expressed by Historian Khawaja Hussain Sayed while talking in a Waqt News programme 'Game Beat on Tuesday. He said if these policies continued there will be no way to bring cricket back on track. But cricket in the country will reach at the stage where hockey stands presently, he added. Twenty years ago, no body can criticise Pakistan team in Sharjah but the present management brought the Pakistan team at a stage where they are only on receiving ends, he said. PCB and government honouring players despite the semi-final loss against arch-rivals India which is a very shameful thing while the players are busy in minting money and left countrys interest behind, he blamed. Meanwhile, cricket analyst Ch Javed Elahi said Sri Lanka gave honour and respect to Pakistan team during the World Cup matches which Pakistan cannot forget. He thanked and praised the Sri Lankan government, Board and people for their respect and hospitality they gave to Pakistan team. He said now it was responsibility of the Pakistan Cricket Board to arrange a reception in honour of Sri Lankan Consul General to thank for their hospitality and praise people of Sri Lanka for their love with the Pakistani team. He said that change of faces in the PCB will not be beneficial for the teams performance but change of system imperative for improvement and boost of cricket in the country. He criticised the performance of captain Shahid Afridi and said Afridi has no capability of taking decision timely to combat the changing situation of match. Pakistani people love cricket and they love team players and want to see improvement in various departmental of the game so it is imperative for the PCB management to chalk-out plan to boost cricket in the country, he concluded.
