LAHORE Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday. Matters of mutual interest, cases registered against the JI leaders and workers, and overall political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting. While talking to TheNation, Liaqat Baloch said he had gone to request the CM for the withdrawal of cases as it was promised which were registered against the JI men during the Musharraf regime, and because of this, the police was raiding the residences of the accused. As per Baloch, the CM has given assurance for this. The second issue, which came under discussion, was the introduction of the Board of Governors in the public sector educational institutions. We discussed the reservations of teachers and students, and aftermath of the decision in detail.
