LANDIKOTAL - A tanker carrying oil supplies for Nato forces was blown up in Torkham area on Wednesday. As per details, the oil tanker bearing registration No LSA 7853 was carrying oil to Afghanistan for the Nato forces. When it reached near Torkham, the driver of the tanker went to eat inside a restaurant after parking the vehicle outside. Several other tankers were also parked there. In the meantime, an explosive device planted by some unknown militants in the parking lot went off and set the vehicle on fire. Immediately after the incident, the political administration officials reached the site and removed the other tankers from the place to avoid further damages. Later, the Khasadar personnel successfully put off the fire. The tanker, damaged partially, was carrying 44000 litres GP9 oil. The administration has registered an FIR against the unknown miscreants. Meanwhile, around two militants were killed and several others arrested during a clash with the security forces at Kokari area of Swat on Wednesday. The killed militants have been identified as Kamran and one of his friends. Meanwhile, Brigadier Tahir Hameed held a meeting with journalists of Swat. The journalists were protesting against the arrest of one of their colleagues, Shehzad Alam. Brigadier Tahir Hameed assured them that Shehzad Alam would be released soon.
