ISLAMABAD - Yasir Butt, world no 53, qualified to the main round of the World Open Squash Championship 2009, which would held in Kuwait from November 1 to 7 after outplaying Clinton Leeuw 3-2. An official of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) told the reporters here that Yasir Butt played excellent game to overcome his challenger after wasting 61 minutes in the court. The score-line was 7-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5 and 11-7. Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas Khan and Farhan Mehboob are already in the main draw of the prestigious squash event. The championship is pursuing prize money of US$ 277,500 and the main draw will consist of 32 players.
