Gas pipeline exploded

QUETTA - A gas pipeline was exploded in Dera Bugti district while a check post of the Frontier Corps was attacked with rockets in Kech district on Friday night. According to sources, explosives planted under an 8-inch diameter gas pipeline in Sui colony went off with a huge blast and damaged the pipeline badly. As a result, gas supply to purification plant was suspended.However, no loss of life was reported in the blast. Three people were killed and 10 others sustained wounds in two separate incidents of firing in Jaffarabad and Quetta Friday. Two people were killed and 10 others injured critically when unidentified armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on two Quetta-bound passenger buses near Shahi Chowki area of Jaffarabad. The deceased were identified as Nawaz and Khadim Hussain. The wounded were admitted to hospital. Police have registered a case and started investigation. In another incident, a man was killed at Joint Road of Quetta. Police said the deceased, identified as Khalid Sultan, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Railway Colony. Police moved the body to hospital for autopsy. However, the motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained.
