OUR STAFF REPORTER KASUR - A PPP leader blasted the district administration for, what he termed, its failure in providing relief to the people affected by recent flood. The district administration has failed to provide relief to the flood-stricken people, Ch Manzoor Ahmed said while addressing a press conference at his residence here Friday. He said water discharge at Ganda Singh was from 85,000 to 90,000 cusecs, which might increase as more rains were expected and India might spill more water. He demanded the government declare the district calamity-hit area so that the affected people be given maximum relief. He added that the affected farmers should be given relief, including giving in agricultural loans. He called upon the government to give more loans for seeds, fertilizers and cultivation of new crops. He said the PPP would take to the streets if the Punjab government did not announce Kasur as calamity-hit area till next Sunday.
