The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was introduced a decade ago and it launched the new Multi-Biometric National Identity Card system in Pakistan. However, it seems that the authority has been incompetent in using this new technology. I reckoned this when recently two of my acquaintances, who are twins, applied for their CNIC and their applications were rejected in the ‘Verification and Clearance’ process, on the basis of a ridiculous objection which said: “Unnatural age difference between twins.” I would request NADRA to please rectify such errors in their system immediately, as obtaining or renewing one’s CNIC is already a tedious task.
