PESHAWAR- Pakistan Army has undertaken massive steps to enhance the delivery of fodder for the cattle of IDPs and protecting them from deadly diseases. According to details, 650 tonnes of fodder has been handed over to the IDPs for their animals. Army has donated 41 tonnes of fodder, PDMA Punjab 500 tonnes, ex-service man association 45 tonnes and other organisations donated 64 tonnes of fodder.
As for as initiative in animal health sector is concerned, total of 75,124 animals have been provided health facilities while 1,02,377 poultry have been vaccinated. Moreover 17 veterinary health teams have been deployed in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, D.I.khan, Karak and Tank to vaccinate the cattle to counter any epidemic.  At least 15 mobile veterinary clinics are also arranged to look after the livestock. Two civil veterinary hospitals at Domail and Kakki duly augmented have been notified for dedicated veterinary support to IDPs’ animals.
Army has also constructed sheds in IDPs camp Bakakhel, Bannu in order to protect animals from heat and rain where they are provided all the facilities, which are necessary for their life, including fodder, water and sanitary requirements.
