Four of a family die in van plunge

RAWALPINDI - Four members of a same family died while seven others got injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep ravine near Maloot village, Kotli Sattian, here on Tuesday.
Rescue 1122 and locals rushed to the place of incident and started rescue operation by shifting the injured and the dead to hospital. The deceased were identified as Muddasir Akhtar, 22, Muhammad Murtaza, 26, Mehnaz Bibi, 24, and Hunaifa, 7.
According to police and Rescue 1122, a van (CH-2483) carrying 11 passengers belonging to a same family was coming from Rawalpindi to Maloot Sattian.
The family was coming back after attending a marriage ceremony when the driver lost his control over the van and it fell into 100 feet deep ravine.
A police officer told The Nation that the bereaved family belonged to Murree and was currently living in Dhoke Kala Khan area.
According to sources, four injured persons were shifted to Combined Military Hospital, Murree, and three were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ), Rawalpindi.
