Multan: Pro, anti-govt demos

Multan -  The activists of govt and opposition parties staged a number of demonstrations and rallies in favour of their leaders here on Tuesday. The PML-N worker burnt the effigies of PTI chief Imran Khan and Allama Tahirul Qadri at Chungi No 9 and shouted slogans against them during an Istehkam-e-Pakistan rally led by MNA Abdul Ghaffar Dogar. The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghaffar Dogar said the people had rejected Imran Khan’s civil disobedience call and transaction of the cash through Hundi. He said a group was demanding resignation of Nawaz Sharif who had the mandate of millions of Pakistanis. He asked participants to raise slogans against the people staging sit-ins in Islamabad so that they could mend their ways.
Similarly, members of Railway PREM union staged a demonstration at Multan railway station to express solidarity with the Government. They criticised Imran Khan for his unconstitutional and unethical demands and creating troubles for the whole nation.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf held a sit-in at Major Jehanzeb Shaheed (Nawan Shehr) chowk, closing roads to traffic. A large number of women and children participated in the protest and raised slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’.
