LAHORE – Four people were killed in as many road mishaps here in different parts of the City, police and rescue workers said on Monday.

A mother of four was killed while five other members of her family wounded seriously when their car smashed into a roadside tree in Mustafa Town police area.

Eyewitnesses told the police that a car turned turtle due to over speeding soon after it hit large pieces of bricks and stones on the road, and then smashed into a tree at Multan Road in Mustafa Town police area.

All the six member of a family sustained serious injuries and were rushed to local hospital in critical condition. A 45-year-old woman, later identified as Rukhsana Bibi, was pronounced dead later. The condition of the injured was reported to be critical.

Resident of Ichra, Rukhsana Bibi, along with her three daughters, a minor granddaughter, and son-in-law was on her way to Thokar Niaz Beg to see some relatives when the road mishap took. The police are investigating.

In another accident, a 22-year-old Qasim was on his way home when a rashly driven car hit him at Jail Road. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he died later.
