ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Juniors under 14-team maintained winning streak in the Qatar Juniors Asian Team Cup Under-14 Championship when they defeated a strong Qatar side 3-0 in the matches held at Khalifa Tennis Centre in Doha.

In the first match Mudassar beat Essa Shonon 6-1, 6-4 while in the second Go Mahzar beat Mohammed Al-Mohamiadi 6-2, 6-3.

In the doubles Mudassar/Go Mazhar beat opponents to complete 3-0. Earlier Pakistan juniors defeated Sri Lanka 2-1.

They will now play Iraq in their next match. Two teams will be selected from each group to play semis while consolation matches would be held to ascertain overall rankings. The other group comprises of India, Kirgizstan, Vietnam, UAE and Qatar-II. Qatar has held the championship for the first time.

Pakistan juniors will have to overcome their tough opponents Hong-Kong and Kazakhstan to stand any chance of grabbing a place in the semi-final.

It is worth mention here that the young boys have done exceptionally well under their coach Kamran Khalil in a very short span of time.
