The police in Pakistan have not been provided with proper training to meet the requirements of the duties assigned to them. They seem to lack the necessary technical and professional skills demanded by their job. Training of police personnel suffer from neglect, as the relevant authorities are unable to provide continuous, rigorous and timely training progranmes. This not only presents challenge for the personnel in carrying out their responsibilities, but also creates hindrance in their promotions. It is imperative that given the volatile security situation in the country, the authorities started paying due attention to revamping and reforming the training procedure.
