KARACHI - The chief of PML-F Pir Sibghatullah Rashdi Pir Paagara has said that he wish that all splinter groups of Pakistan Muslim League come together under one platform. He said it was his mission to unite different groups into a single Pakistan Muslim League which he said will put Pakistan back on the path of prosperity.

He said this after a meeting with the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, who called on him at Raja House on Wednesday.

Talking to the media, he hinted at the possible amalgamation of different factions of PML-F. He said different parties of Pakistan were making alliances but his party intends to provide clean leadership to the Pakistani nation. Pagara said Pervez Elahi had not come to convey any message of President Asif Ali Zardari.

He said he had very long relations with the Chaudhry family and Pervez Elahi had visited him though both leaders also discussed political situations in the country and possible unification of the splinter PMLs into a single Pakistan Muslim League.

“I neither hold designations so high nor I need them,” said Pagara while giving message to the possible contenders for the high posts in case of unification of different PML-F factions. “I want to give clean leadership to the nation whose hands may not be dusted with corruption” he added.

“We have no contact with the PPP and we won’t make it” said Pagara while categorically closing his doors for PPP. He said Pervez Elahi had not come to convey any message of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking on the occasion, Pervez Elahi said the next polls should be held on time. “No party will be able to grab clear majority.” He said the next government too would be a coalition government.

Responding to a question, he said no one had contacted his party for consultations regarding the caretaker setup.

Ghulam Mustafa Khar agreed with the point of Elahi and said no one could single handedly take the country out of crisis, and adding there was dire need for a national alliance of all political parties.

Earlier Pir Pagara nominated Mir Zafarullah Jamali as Central Vice President of his party while Ghulam Mustafa Khar as the president of PML-F Punjab.

He also announced that the son of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Mir Fareedullah Khan Jamali has been made President PML-F Baluchistan. Earlier, the newly-appointed vice president, and both provincial presidents called on Pir Pagara at Raja House and discussed in detail the political situation and organisation of the party. The party leaders also discussed the future strategy for forthcoming elections.
