JHANG – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that “Zar Baba and his companions” have given nothing to the masses and the country except crises like unemployment, dearness, loadshedding, corruption and nepotism. Addressing a public gathering at Kot Mirza in Shorkot, he said that the PPP-led government had destroyed the national economy by looting billions of rupees from the national exchequer. The industry and agricultural sector had been ruined because of artificial shortage of electricity. The corrupt had looted farmers in the name of fertilisers and now they wanted to destroy textile industry of Punjab.  The chief minister further said that to eliminate corruption and loadshedding from the country and to solve all the problems, the masses should help the PML-N through votes in upcoming general elections. He added that the PML.N had served the people honestly during the last four and a half years and “corruption free” culture was not only introduced in the province, but also it was implemented strictly to provide relief to the people. He said, “I am ready to present myself in the court of the masses if anyone proves corruption on the part of me. The Punjab government has completed a many development projects throughout the province. In Jhang, the Punjab government has spent billions of rupees on different developing projects and the people are taking benefit of these projects.” The chief minister announced that he would set up an industrial state in Shorkot. He also announced the extension and construction of a road from Qaim Bharwana to Toba Tek Singh. He said, “We are ashamed in front of the soul of Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA) as we have given nothing to the masses even after passing 65 years.” “If we are to build Danish schools to provide education to the children of poor, if we are to distribute laptops to intelligent students and if we are keep continue the welfare programmes, we have to recover all the looted money from thieves,” he said. The CM said that the extension and construction of Jhang-Gojra Road had completed at a cost of Rs500 million, and Rs700 million was spent on the completion of Jhang Bypass and Rs500 million was spent on Jhang-Faisalabad Raod. He further said the MNA Saima Akhter Bharwana had served the people honestly and was elected twice from her constituency and she will be the candidate of the PML.-N from the constituency in the elections. Mehr Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, lacal leaders of the PML–N and a huge number of common public were present on the occasion.
