Newborn abandoned at hospital


HAFIZABAD - A poverty-stricken young woman of Bhoon Kalan after giving birth to a baby in a washroom of DHQ Hospital, abandoned the newly-born baby and run away from the hospital premises.
According to hospital, one Nabeela got admission in the emergency ward and went inside an adjacent washroom where she gave birth to a baby without the help of lady doctor or paramedic and managed to escape.
However, the woman was traced who told the DHQ staff that she was married to one Sarwar in Madhrianwala but due to her strained relations with her husband she settled with her poor father who was an old aged and suffering from paralyses.
She said that she was passing life from hand to mouth and due to the reason she had abandoned her infant.
WOMAN ATTACKS HUSBAND: A man was injured by his wife and her brothers over a dispute here the other day.  According to police, Muhammad Khalid, a resident of Muridke who has recently returned from jail visited Hafizabad to meet his wife where scuffle arose over a trifle between Robina and Khalid.
Upon this Robina's brother and others opened indiscriminate fire on him. As a result, he received multiple injuries. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The police have registered a case against Robina Kousar, Imran, Shoukat and others.
CM THANKED: Students and principal of Government Girls Islamia Degree College for Women thanked the Punjab Chief Minister for providing pick and drop facility to the students.  At a simple ceremony, DO Colleges Rana Maqsood Ahmad handed over the key of bus worth Rs10 million provided by the government to provide pick and drop facility to the students of remote areas.
