PML-N contacted JUI-F for seat adjustment: Haidari

OKARA –Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari announced that his party would contest the upcoming national elections, saying that the nation would not allow rigging in the elections.
Talking to the media during his visit to Okara, Haidari said Kalabagh Dam was a technical issue. By making it a political issue, hatred among the people across the country was being created. He said the PML-N had approached the JUI-F for seat adjustment in Balochistan for the general elections. He maintained that solution to all problems lies in impartial and fair elections.
“Today, no one is living a peaceful and tranquil life due to inflation, chaos, bloodshed, extortion and kidnapping etc. The struggle of JUI is only for implementation of Islam as solution to all the problems could be found in the principles of Islam,” he added.He further said in the first week of January, a meeting of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal would be held wherein important decisions are likely to be taken. To a question, he said that If Yousaf Raza Gilani as then prime minister could appear in the court, Altaf Hussain should also appear in the Supreme Court on January7.
On the occasion, JUI-F Okara Secretary General Syed Ehtishamul Haq Gillani and Hafiz Ateequr Rehman were also present.
WOMEN, DAUGHTER TORTURED: Three men forcibly entered a house and tortured the women and her daughter over a dispute here the other day.
Reportedly, three men namely Kaley Khan, Abdul Aziz and Mohammad Jaffer forcibly entered into house of Allah Ditta son of Kushi Mohammad and started beating Alah Ditta,s wife and daughter and injured them. The police have registered the case and investigating the matter.
CASE REGISTERED: A case has been registered against a woman for cheating the court by concealing the cancellation of bail order. Sources revealed the resident of village 41/2 L Mohammad Saeed filed an application in court that the convicted Maqbool Bibi daughter of Mohammad Sarwar resident of Thutta Beigh Tehsil Tandialanwala cheated to conceal her cancellation bail from the court of Husnain Qadir Ghuller Additional Judge Okara and tried to get her bail again. On the orders of the court a case has been registered    to local MET office, fogy weather will last for next couple of days.
WOMEN’S ROLE STRESSED: To appreciate the role women in the society,a seminar was held in connection with the working Women Day here at District Council Hall.
MPA Mian Yawar Zaman was the chief guest on the occasion. While addressing the participants, He said that the role of women was of paramount value in every society and a progressive society remains a dream without giving equal rights to the women. He said despite all problems and hardships, women were struggling side by side with men.  Addressing on the occasion, the other speakers said that the women were working as doctors, engineers, teachers, air hostesses and pilots and are sharing their role in the progress and development.
Call to use iodised salt: The salt processors are producing more then 9,400 metric ton iodised salt on annual basic to prevent people from IDDs (Iodine Deficiency Disorders) in the district.
Executive District Officer Dr Saeed Ullah Khan appreciated the salt processors in strengthening Universal Salt Iodization in district. He expressed these views during the refresher training workshop of salt processors on the subject "Iodization techniques, quality control and Legal Framework of IDD/USI" organized by District Health Department in collaboration with the Micronutrient initiative here the other day.
According to him, the use of Iodized salt at household level has increased to 69 per cent from 17 per cent and iodine deficiency deceased 63 per cent in mothers and 64 per cent in child age of 6 to 12 years.
H said that the iodine deficiency had significantly decreased over last one decade due to successful and effective implementation and execution of Universal salt Iodization Program.
On the occasion, DO Health Dr Mohanmmad Athar advised salt processor that to ensure production of iodized salt was not only their legal obligation but also moral duty as well.
On the occasion, IDD/USI program Zonal Officer Furqan Shabbir shared the contribution of the Micronutrient initiative in successful implementation and execution salt Iodization program.
USIP District Focal Person Iqbal Mehmood also addressed the participants.
