ISLAMABAD – Rawal Cadet College clinched the trophy of the first Quaid-e-Azam Judo Championship-2012 (Boys & Girls) by securing 155 points with five golds, three silvers and 10 bronze medals.

The championships was organised at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Gymnasium Hall under the patronage of Pakistan Judo Federation in collaboration with Islamabad Judo Association.

Begonia grabbed second position with 45 points and with one gold, one silver and five bronze medals while Liaqat Gym. Rawalpindi secured third position with 40 points, winning two golds and one silver medal.

A total of 100 players, 65 male judokas and 35 female judokas of different weight categories, which include 30kg, 35kg, 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 55kg and 65kg.

Waheed Khan District Sports Officer formally opened the championship while Brig Arif Mehmood Saddiqui, President, Islamabad Olympic Association was the chief guest on the occasion. Pakistan national women judo team performed the technical officials and referees duties while international judo coach, Sajjad Kazemi was the chief referee.

Brig. Arif Mehmood Saddiqui lauded the efforts of the organizers for holding he event successfully. In the Boy's 30kg category: Bilal (Rawal Cadet School won gold, Basit (Bigonia Martial Art Centre, BMAC) silver and Umar (Rawal School) bronze.

In 35kg, Babar (Rawal Cadet School) gold, Salauddin Afridi (Martial Art Centre, MAC) silver and Hasib (BMAC) bronze.

In 40kg, Jaffar (Liaqat Gym) gold, Raja Shoaib (Rawal School) silver and Hamza Fayaz (BMAC) bronze. In 45kg, Asad (Liaqat Gym) gold, Talha Qaisar(Rawal School) silver and Abdul Rafay (MAC) bronze.

In 50kg, Zaki (Rawal School) gold, Usman Afridi (MAC,) silver and Arshad (BMAC) bronze. In 55kg,Syed Razaq (Tarnol) gold, Ismail (Liaqat Gym) silver and Ilyas (MAC) bronze. In plus 67kg, Jawad (BMAC) gold, Salamat (Rawal School) silver and Umar (MAC) bronze.

In Girl's 35kg, Dua (BMAC) gold, Usra(BMAC) silver and Rubab (MAC) bronze. In 44kg, Shabana (BMAC) gold, Qurat-ul-Ain (MAC) silver and Amina (Tarnol) bronze.

In -52kg,: Hajra (MAC) gold, Nadra (BMAC) silver and Rida (MAC) bronze. In plus 57kg, Binash (BMAC) gold, Farah (Rawal School) silver and Anum (MAC) bronze.
