ISLAMABAD (PR) - Former Chairman Bahria Town Malik Riaz has inaugurated latest, state-of-the-art MRI machine at Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust Hospital Phase VIII Bahria Town.

VCE Cdre. (R) M Ilyas, VCE Mariam Rahman, Director Sales Shahid Qureshi, senior management and staff of Bahria Town and other dignitaries of the twin cities were also present on this occasion.

The inaugurated MRI machine is imported from Japan and costs approximately Rs 85 million. It is 0.4 Tesla with open MRI Technology suitable for women, children and Claustrophobic having excellent resolution with all specialised MRI studies like MRA, MRV, Cardiac and MRI.

On this occasion, Brig (R) Khurram Raza (Administrator of BARMT) expressed that  the induction of this machine is a valuable addition that will not only increase the capabilities of the hospital but will also ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the patients. He also informed that five successful open heart surgeries were conducted at BARMT hospital’s Cardiac Center on Sunday 23rd December 2012.

This state-of-the-art cardiac center is one of its kind in the country and is headed by Major Gen (R) Asif Ali Khan who previously commanded at the AFIC.
