Christmas parties continue

ISLAMABAD - In a bid to show solidarity with Christian community, Capital Development Authority (CDA) organised Second Christmas Festival at Open Air Theatre Shakarparian on Thursday.
As usual, a large number of Christian workers of CDA participated in the function that was especially organised to mark the day with Christian community.
Addressing on the occasion, Member (Estate) CDA, Shaita Sohail, felicitated the Christians and said that on the directions of Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal, Sports and Culture Directorate of the authority has organised this mega festival in order to join Christian community in their festivities on Christmas. She said that believing in the prophethood of Jesus Christ and Bible as divine book binds the Christians and Muslim communities in an unbreakable relationship of brotherhood.
She further said that Jesus Christ brought with him message of love, peace and compassion for humanity. Islam also preaches compassion and love for humanity indiscriminate of religions. Founding father of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah also stressed on equality for all faiths in Pakistan. Islamabad and Capital Development Authority acknowledge and appreciate the services of the Christian community.
The second Christmas Festival organised by Capital Development Authority is part of happiness and festivities of Christian community in general and Christian employees of CDA in particular. Capital Development Authority will continue with its traditions.
The festival witnessed the attendance of people from all walks of society. Christian community participated in large number with great enthusiasm. Magic show, children play areas and different other stalls were particular attraction of the festival. Christmas cake cutting ceremony, prayers service and religious strains were also part of the festival.
MD Bait-ul-Maal, the representatives of CDA Mazdoor Union and Christian religious leaders also attended the festival.
