Adviser reviews healthcare centres

LAHORE - Adviser to CM on Health Kh Salman Rafiq chaired a meeting for reviewing establishment of rehabilitation centers at divisional level at Civil Secretariat yesterday.
Secretary Medical Education & Tertiary Healthcare Jawad Rafiq Malik, Special Secretary Health Gulzar Hussain Shah, MPAs Dr Aalia Aftab and Mehmood Laghari, member P&D (Health) Dr Shabana, Additional Secretary Finance Dr Noor-ul-Ain, officers of Punjab Information Technology Board and representatives of International Council Red Crescent attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that these centers would be equipped with modern healthcare facilities. Three such centers would be set up every year. In the first phase, centers would be established in Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Bahawalpur divisions for which Rs650 million have been allocated.
Additional Secretary Health (Tech) Dr Salman Shahid was nominated as focal person for this project.
It was informed that a model rehabilitation center was already working in Muzaffargarh which would also be expanded. It was informed that CHAL Foundation and ICRC would provide cooperation in establishing these centers. 5000 Sqft space would be required for the each centre.
Secretary Health directed preparing a master plan for all nine rehabilitation centers for ensuring uniformity.
