Swift, Harris spend first Xmas together

Colorado: The pop power couple looks to be spending their first Christmas together, and Swift posted a picture of Harris and her brother building a snowman.

Taylor Swift is spending Christmas getting her boyfriend Calvin Harris and her brother Austin to bond with each other, taking a snap on Instagram of a snowman the three of them built together.

‘Really proud of us over here,’ she captioned the picture on Wednesday (December 23rd), which shows the three posing with their impressive creation in Colorado. Swift was wearing a ‘Rude-Olph’ beanie hat in the photo, and her younger brother Austin was lying on his side in front of the snowman.–CTZ

A couple of other pictures went up, of Swift and Harris building their snowy creation, and one of her father Scott Swift decorating the family Christmas tree. Or Swiftmas tree, if you like…

Earlier this year, Swift began dating the Scottish superstar DJ, who a few months ago was named this year was named as the highest-earning person in dance music for 2015. He moved into her Tribeca apartment in New York during the summer. If they do end up spending the holiday season together, it will go a long way to dispelling the occasional break-up rumours that come out of nowhere.

In December, the pair was seen celebrating her 26th birthday at a star-studded bash also attended by her mother Andrea. Swift recently wrapped up the lengthy world tour she undertook in support of her multi-million selling album 1989, but she’s not yet finished plundering the record for singles. The video for her latest release ‘Out of the Woods’ will be debuting on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’.

2015 has been another highly successful year for Swift, as her album continued to sell by the bucketload. It’s one of only four albums to have shifted more than one million copies in the Billboard charts this calendar year - Adele, Ed Sheeran and Drake have been responsible for the others.

Guatemala hunts killers of ex-beauty queen

GUATEMALA CITY: Guatemalan police hunted for the killers of a former beauty queen and two companions, who were shot dead in their car in what looked like an organized hit. Helen Lopez Roblero, who was crowned beauty queen three years ago of the southwestern town of Malacatan where the attack happened, died in a torrent of automatic gunfire on December 17, according to Guatemalan news reports.

A female friend and a man in the car were also killed. Another male passenger survived. Grisly video of the aftermath of the attack posted online by one newspaper showed bloodied bodies in a white car, the two occupants in the front still strapped in by seatbelts. Lopez, fatally wounded, is seen pleading for help. She died later in hospital. As of Friday, no arrests have been made, and police suspect the murder was carried out by one of the drug gangs active in the Central American country.–AFP

Guatemala is located in the so-called Northern Triangle, a high-crime region including neighboring Honduras and El Salvador that is prey to vicious violence by street gangs.
