Mob beats ‘proclaimed offender’ to death

AHMEDPUR EAST - Furious mob alleged beaten to death a proclaimed offender who was caught after a dacoity here at Chowk Abbasia the other night.
The PO identified as Abdul Latif alias Bidda was wanted by the police in more than 10 cases of dacoity and robbery. According to the police, two motorcyclists snatched Rs20,000 and cellphones from a shopkeeper namely Rauf Ahmed at pistol point. At which he raised alarms as a resultant his brother, also shopkeeper Muhammad Imran and other neighbours gathered at the scene. They besieged one of the dacoit identified as Abdul Latif alias Bidda while his other unknown accomplice escaped from the scene. Bidda tried to fire gunshots with his pistol but furious mob beaten him severely. As a result he breathed his last instantly.
On information, DSP Mehar Allah Dad Luck and Ahmedpur East City Police SHO along with a contingent rushed to the spot. The police cordoned off the area to arrest the other dacoit and shifted the dead body of dacoit Abdul Latif Bidda to THQ civil hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the police recovered a pistol, cash amount and cellphone snatched from the shopkeeper from the incident site.
The police registered a case on the report of shopkeeper Rauf Ahmed. It is to be recalled that deceased Bidda’s bother Shakeel Ahmed was arrested by the City Police some time ago and had recovered 11 stolen motorcycles on the information extorted from him during interrogation. Sub-Inspector Shamasuddin of Home Investigation Unit has been assigned to investigate the case.
Police bust robbers gang: The police claimed to have busted notorious Aajji robbers’ gang and arrested its three members including the ringleader the other day.
According to the Changa Manga Police, the police nabbed three members of the robbers gang including its ringleader notorious Azam alias Aajji. The two other felons were identified as Sabbir alias Sabi and Ghulam Farid. The police also recovered three pistols, two Honda 125 motorcycles, cash amount of Rs50,000 and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. The gang used to rob people in different areas of the district including Changa Manga, Khuddian Khas, Phoolnagar and Sara-e-Mughal. On the directives of Kasur DPO, the Changa Manga Police busted the gang.
Further investigation is underway.
BIKER CRUSHED: A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a speeding tractor-trolley in the suburban village Baqapur. Muhammad Naeem was on the way to Rajuwal from Ellahabad on a bike. As he reached Baqapur, the tractor-trolley hit him. He sustained critical injuries and breathed his last on the spot.
