LAHORE - Shah Shamyl Alam helped Barry’s register a well-contested 6-4 triumph over Newage to qualify for the Guard Group Polo Cup 2015 subsidiary final against Guard Filters to be played today (Sunday) here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC).
Although Newage lost the match against Barry’s yet they have qualified for the main final of the event on better points basis and will take on Wahar Valley in the final clash to be played today (Sunday).
Newage started the match in great style with the help of Hashim Kamal Agha who hammered two goals to provide 2-0 lead while for Barry’s, Shah Shamyl Alam scored one to finish the first chukker 2-1. Newage also dominated the second chukker with Alman Jaleel Azam hitting two goals to make it 4-1. After that, it was all about Barry’s who slammed one goal in the third chukker and four goals in the fourth and last chukker to finish the match having 6-4 lead. Shah Shamyl was leading scorer with two goals while one goal each was converted by Nafees Barry, Faisal Khan and Jameel-ur-Rehman Barry. Omer Asjad Malik and Taimur Ali Malik officiated the match as umpires.
