ISLAMABAD - The Senate Standing Committee on Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) will take briefing on the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) during first week of January from the relevant quarters.

The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms will brief the body on the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) with specific reference to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.

The projects and plans of the CPEC have already severely been criticised by major political and nationalist parties of Sindh, KP and Balochistan.

The Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed that both provinces have been ignored in the 3,000km long Gwadar-Kashghar route of CPEC.

The Baloch representatives urged the government to restore the “old route” of CPEC so that the benefits of this mega projects could also be reaped by the people of the backward province.

The overall working and performance of the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association (PBSA) and Pakistan Girls Guide Association (PGGA) will also be discussed in the meeting.
