PESHAWAR -  The provincial leadership of the religious parties on Tuesday formally announced the revival of the alliance Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal at provincial level and also made it clear that Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F and Jamaat-e-Islami will quit their respective coalition governments, whenever, heads of their parties will direct them.

Speaking at a joint news conference after having a consultative meeting of the MMA allied parties held at the provincial Secretariat of the JUI-F, provincial chief of the JUI-F Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and JI’s provincial head Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that they were going to announce the restoration of the MMA at the provincial level.

“The JU-F will quit PML-N government at Centre. Likewise, the JI will say goodbye to provincial government of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 24-hour notice, whenever, they get the instructions from the heads of the parties,” they said, adding the MMA, an alliance of religio-political parties, would contest the forthcoming elections on single electoral symbol.

In the light of the prevailing situation in the country, it was decided to revive the MMA and this alliance would actively take part in the coming elections across the country, they said, adding, that work on the new manifesto of the alliance was in progress.

They informed that MMA had been restored to foil conspiracies being hatched by international usurpers.

They said that the MMA’s central Cabinet would be constituted during a meeting being held on January 12 in Lahore.

The allied parties of the MMA would jointly run election drive for the coming general elections, they said, adding, that people of the country in general and of KP had attached high hopes on this religious party’s alliance.

To continue the process of consultation, a central level committee to be headed by JI’s Laiquat Baloch and Akram Khan Durrani of the JUI-F had been formed,adding MMA would go together at central and provincial levels, they were of the views.

The supporters of the West would see a big defeat in the coming polls, they added.

To pacify Maulana Samiul Haq to bring him back to the MMA fold, they informed that a jirga had been constituted in this regard, adding, that they had also formed delegations for bringing more religious parties into the MMA, a platform of religious parties which had not only ruled the KP province but also been part of a coalition government in Balochistan from 2002 to 2007.
