Nurses pay tribute to Jinnah

Nurses held a function at Services Hospital on Tuesday in connection with Quaid Day.  Chief Nursing Superintendent Samina Yasmeen laid stress on following the teachings of Jinnah. Samina said all nurses should uphold the teachings of their great leader and continue to work for the ailing humanity with same zeal and zest.  Young Nurses Association President Shamshad Niazi, Lubna Yasmeen, Asma Taaj, Sajida Parveen and Fahmida Haider and a large number of nurses were present. Also, the Debating Society of UVAS in collaboration with the University Literary Society, QIRTAS, organised different competitions of debates and essay writing at its city campus. Sameen, Momina Arshad and Shanza Farooq remained significant in English essay writing while Saira Mukhtar, Maria Raheel and Saad Khalid secured positions in Urdu essay writing competitions. Ifrah Irshad, Maham Zara, Aoun Abass, Amina Batool and Laiba Rasheed spoke about the life and ideology of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. UVAS senior tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and Dr Asim Aslam co-chaired the prize-distribution ceremony and distributed certificates among the winners of the contests.–APP
