Two wanted dacoits killed by ‘accomplices’

SIALKOT-Two dacoits including a proclaimed offender (PO) were allegedly killed by their three accomplices here in Jodheywali locality, in outskirts of Sialkot city, early Tuesday morning.
According to local senior police officials, five armed dacoits had set up a picket at Jodheywali and were looting passersby. In the meanwhile, some people put up resistance which prompted one of the dacoit to firing. However, the bullets instead hit his two accomplices, killing them instantly while the three others fled the scene.
Later, one of the slain accused was identified as Yasir Arafat alias Taina, a notorious proclaimed offender (PO), wanted by the police in as many as five murder cases.
According to police, Yasi alias Taina had shot dead a police SI Syed Imdad Hussain Shah in front of Govt Sardar Begum Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot on November 28, 2017 (a month ago).
On Dec 2,2017, the accused had shot dead a local trader Mehar Khalid, 65 and his niece Sehar, 6, near their house in Sialkot city’s congested Gohadpur locality. It is to be noted that Rashid, brother of deceased alias Taina had also been killed in a shootout near Sialkot a month ago.
The other slain dacoit was identified as Javaid, resident of Mansehra and was wanted by the police in dozens of cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and kidnapping for ransom.
Police shifted the dead bodies to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot for autopsy. Sialkot Saddr Police have registered a case against the unidentified runaway accused.
