LAHORE - Askari Al-Fadh Basketball Club won the 16th Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup Basketball Tournament 2021 by beating Omega Basketball Club with a narrow margin of 61-58 in the final at International Abdul Nasser Basketball Court, Aram Bagh, Karachi.
From the winning club, Saifullah Noshirwani 15, Shah Mir Zaheer 13 and Anas Usman 13 displayed quality basketball skills and techniques and guided Askari Club to title victory. Furqan Patel 15 and Abbas Abid 13 played well for the runner-up club. Yasir Orakzai and Hassan Zafar were prominent players by scoring 10 baskets. Anas Usman was declared the best player of the tournament.
On this occasion, the ground and lower staff from Karachi Sports Foundation, Aram Bagh received special prizes from the organizers. At the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup prizes distribution ceremony, the special guest of honor, renowned sports sponsor Kashmiri leader Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate distributed individual prizes among the winners, runners-up and athletes. President Karachi Basketball Association Ghulam Muhammad Khan, former International Basketball Player Tanveer Ahmed, Muhammad Yaqub, Shahzeb Raza Advocate, Rafi Hashmat Advocate and others were also present on the occasion.
