MULTAN - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has postponed its intra-party elections in Multan because of an error in ballot paper. The announcement was made by PTI President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi while talking to journalists here at his residence on Tuesday.

The name of a group participating in the election was missing on the ballot papers on which the group lodged strong protest.

“I have talked to the chief election commissioner Hamid Khan and we hereby declare the elections null and void. The new date for elections will be announced soon,” he declared. He said that the PTI leadership was determined to hold transparent intra-party elections and all errors located during the first phase were being removed. HE said that it was for the first time in national history that any party held intra-party elections.
