KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement has declined any kind of internal party dispute over the resignation of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad as the speculative theories spread out in the county.

Citizens of Karachi have shown a deep concern over the internal party conflict between the leadership of the MQM and Sindh governor.

According to details, speculation ahead of the internal party dispute is on the rise and the resignation of the governor became a hundred million question.

The unconfirmed reports roaming in the city like former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza or Senator Faisal Raza Abidi would replace the slot of the governor.

Sources privy to the matter revealed that MQM local leadership in Pakistan and London have decided to step down Governor Sindh while some other party leaders and establishment is trying to convinced MQM leadership for resuming the governorship of Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan.

Sources said that the conflicts were came in view when it all was screened, in starting of January 2013 MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said that the government may remove Governor Sindh but the MQM would definitely take part in the Tahir Ul Qadri‘s long march being held in Islamabad.

Source pointed out that governor opposed the participation of MQM in the long march and convinced the MQM leadership on behalf of the outside players.

Resultantly MQM Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar came with the decision and announced that they will not participate in the Qadri’s long march.

The ambiguous statements further confused the citizens as MQM‘s leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that the governor would also resign from his position while Farooq Sattar said that MQM’s coordination committee will decide about the governorship.

The sources said that MQM Co-ordination committee has decided to step down governor after the revoking of Sindh Peoples Local Bodies Act 2012. Valued mentioning here a new turning point in expected in Sindh’s political situation as the party’s high command summon the governor in London.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan left for London via Dubai as he has been directed to call on MQM chief Altaf Hussain in London but the extended stay in Dubai has raised question.

Meanwhile while creating more uncertainty MQM‘s leader Farooq Sattar talking to media said that he don’t know what Dr Ishratul Ebad doing in Dubai.

It is worth mentioning here President Zardari was also there in Dubai.

Early on Tuesday, the MQM has denied the reports regarding rifts between the party leadership and the Sindh governor and termed it baseless.

In a statement, MQM’s coordination committee said that the party leadership had full confidence in the governor and reports about differences between the party leadership and the governor have nothing to do with the reality.

It further stated that certain forces were trying to create chaos in the rows of MQM, urging the party workers to maintain unity among them and avoid paying heeds to ‘false reports’.

Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan still enjoys the governorship of Sindh and MQM has yet not decided to leave the governorship.
