LAKKI MARWAT - Assistant Commissioner Lakki Marwat Abdul Shakoor Dawar paid surprise inspection visits to Nadra office and government city hospital on Tuesday to check provision of facilities for people.
The visits were arranged after Deputy Commissioner Nisar Ahmad received complaints from public circles about the poor state of affairs and red-tapism policy for addressing people’s grievances in government departments and institutions.
In Nadra office, some visitors complained that after fulfilling all essential formalities they have not delivered computerized national identity cards despite lapse of more than two months. They said that a rented building had been acquired at an unfeasible place near Bukhari Shah Graveyard for Nadra office, causing inconvenience for general public. They demanded that the process of CNICs delivery should be accelerated besides the office would be shifted to some reasonable building to avoid inconvenience for area people.
Dawar also checked the attendance of doctors and paramedics in the city hospital. He inspected the demolition of old building and issued on spot the orders for expediting construction work on the new building. He also went to medicine store, laboratory, x-ray rooms, tuberculoses and other departments of the hospital and checked availability of healthcare facilities for patients.
Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Ishaq informed the district administration’s official that the hospital management had made alternate temporary arrangements within the limits of the hospital for setting up an emergency ward and an operation theater. The Assistant Commissioner directed the MS to ensure presence of doctors and paramedics and availability of treatment facilities for patients, as residents of the district were dependant on the city hospital for treatment.
“Besides ensuring strict supervision of construction work on new building the local administration will make all-out efforts for using quality construction material”, he added.
Meanwhile, the provincial government posted Tajori Civil Hospital’s Administrator Dr Muhammad Ishaq (BPS-19) as Medical Superintendent of Government City Hospital with immediate effect. After assuming charge of new responsibilities Dr Ishaq held a meeting with the doctors and other employees of the hospital and directed them to perform their professional obligations honestly. He said that the management would not compromise on performance of duty and derelict employees as well as those found absent would face the music according to prescribed rules and laws.
Meanwhile, residents of Lakki city and adjacent villages hailed the appointment of Dr Muhammad Ishaq as medical superintendent of city hospital and hoped that he would work for provision of better healthcare facilities to the patients.
