ISLAMABAD - Acting Wafaqi Mohtasib, Salman Faruqui has decided another batch of 11,000 cases.

According a press release issued here on Tuesday, this is in addition to 30,212 cases decided last month. So far a total number of 41,000 cases have been disposed of since his appointment as Acting Ombudsman in December 2012. These cases relate to the period of interregnum of over two years when the officer of Wafaqi Mohtasib remained vacant after the expiry of tenure of last Ombudsman.  More than 50,000/- complaints were received during this period which were processed and investigated by the officers of this secretariat. After assumption of charge, the Wafaqi Mohtasib designated the advisors and investigating officers to thoroughly examine the files so as to provide maximum relief to the citizens in the shortest possible time.   Such large number of cases has been decided in a very short time despite acute shortage of advisors as initially new ones could not be appointed due to ban on recruitment. The Wafaqi Mohtasib intends to dispose of rest of the cases in the shortest possible time.
