LAHORE – Jamiat Ulema-i Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Tuesday announced holding ‘Islam Zindabad Conference’ at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 31.
Talking to the media at Jamia Rehmania before ulema conference, Fazl said when the country was in crisis, they invited the masses to participate in the conference for the sake of Pakistan. He said the Punjab JUI-F was holding the conference wherein people from across the country would participate. He said earlier, JUI-F had given its message in Karachi and other provinces and now it would do the same in Punjab. He hoped people from all walks of life will participate in the conference. He said the conference would be a demo against the on going conspiracies being hatched by foreign forces against the country.
To a query, Fazl said they remained ally of PPP but when they realised the non-seriousness of the government to resolve the issues facing by the country, they parted ways. He said, “So, it is not right to criticise us for being ally.
We are parliamentary party and we always adopted democratic ways to resolve the issues. If the parliamentary resolutions are existed now, it is due to JUI-F,” he said.
Responding to another question about handing over of Gwadar Port to China and Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project, he said Pakistan was a sovereign country that had to make its decision according to its needs. He said foreign powers pressurised Pakistan’s foreign policy and JUI-F wanted to get it independent.
