KARACHI – Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) organized a Training Workshop regarding Sindh Procurement Regulatory Authority (SPPRA) rules and regulations here on Tuesday.

KWSB MD Misbahuddin Farid has directed to launch the training programme to remove and prevent objections raised by (SPPRA) about the misconduct during procurements and to ensure timely completion of development projects.

He directed all the officers to ensure that NIT was prepared abiding the SPPRA 2009 and 2010 rules and audit regulations.

Director Training Tehseen Manzar directed the training session regarding SPPRA rules and regulations for the officers of the KWSB.

During the workshop, Director SPPRA Akram Ali Khuwaja briefed the participants from services, works and procurement of goods departments about the SPPRA provisions so that they could perform their duties in compliance with the SPPRA rules and regulations.

SPPRA Consultant Muhammad Arab Shaikh conducted the question and answer session during the workshop.

All deputy managing directors, chief engineers, directors, account officers including MD finance, technical services, project directors, deputy director finance, LDLFA, internal auditor and account officers were present in the workshop.

KWSB MD Misbahuddin Farid hoped that officers participating in the workshop would comply with the SPPRA Rules and Regulations, which would not only avoid SPPRA’s objections but also the objections raised by Transparency International, ensuring crystal clear procurement. He said that the KWSB was a public service institution and swift provision of supplies to the citizens of Karachi was its duty.
