LAHORE – Investigations Police on Tuesday claimed to have smashed a gang of robbers by arresting its eight members and also recovered looted cash and valuables and weapons from their possession.

While addressing a press conference, SSP Investigation Babar Bakhat Qureshi told reporters the arrested criminals were involved in the murder one Sultan, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, who was killed on resistance. The bandits also wounded a police constable near Lorri Adda during an encounter and fled away. The CIA Kotwali police arrested eight robbers and thieves.

During preliminary investigation, the arrested robbers have confessed to investigators that they had snatched away over 200 motorcycles from different parts of Lahore and Mandi Bahauddin.

The arrested criminals were identified as Shahbaz alias Shahbazi, Mohammad Hafeez, Abdul Aziz alias Doctor, Ghafar Saleem, Haroon Masih, Shahid, Murtaza, Hameed and Irshad.
