RAWALPINDI - The robbers shot dead an employee of a bakery and merchant shop over showing resistance during a dacoity bid at Ghaznavi Road, Bagh Sardaran, the precinct of PS Ganjmandi here on Tuesday.However, the traders caught a fleeing dacoit and handed him over to police amid massive protest demanding the police the arrest of remaining robbers. A case has been registered by police.According to details, three armed robbers stormed into a bakery and merchant shop owned by Sufi Qadeer located at Ghaznavi Road, Bagh Sardaran and made the entire staff hostage at gun point. Later the intruders started looting the shop when an employee Muhammad Raffique offered resistance. On this the robbers started firing and killed the employee. After committing the crime, the robbers fled from the scene. However, some traders doing a brave managed to catch a fleeing robber.Police was called and the robber was handed over to police. Soon after the incident, the traders shut down their businesses and staged a sit in and chanted slogans against police. SP Rawal Town and SHO PS Gangmandi also rushed to scene and ensured the protestors that the two dacoits would be arrested soon. The protest staged by traders also triggered traffic block in Raja Bazaar.Meanwhile, a security guard committed suicide by shooting him with this official riffle owing to poverty in the limits of PS Naseerabad. SI Farukh, who was investigating the case, told TheNation that Muhammad Mumtaz son of Muhammad Nawaz, aged 49, hails from Sargodha, security guard of a private company was performing his duty as night watchman in Street Number 20 of Naseerabad. Two days ago, he told his friends that owing to meagre salary, it has become difficult for him to meet the both ends. He also told his friends that he would kill himself, SI informed. SI said that at 1:45am on Tuesday midnight Nawaz committed suicide while shooting himself with pump action 12 bore gun.Police shifted the dead body to hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the heirs. Meanwhile, a female Pakistani expatriate, who had returned to homeland from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been deprived of her purse containing cash, Saudi Riyals, Oversees Pakistani Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), health certificates and 2 ATM cards by two women robbers in a shopping mall, within the limits of PS Sadiqabad.Saira Nasir wife of Fazal Nabi Chaudhry in her application filed with PS Sadiqabad stated that she lived in KSA and had arrived Pakistan to spent vocations with her parents, living at Muhammadi Colony. She added that she along with her sister went for shopping at Golden Cosmetics and Lass Center at Chaudhry Street in Sadiqabad when two women wearing veil snatched her purse containing Rs 15000, 620 Saudi Riyals, 2 ATM cars, CNICs, health certificates and other important documents.Taking action on the complaint of victim lady, SI Sarfraz, the duty officer, immediately visited the crime scene and got the CCTV footage of the incident.  Police took up case and launched investigation.
