KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has congratulated Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif on getting the titles of ‘Takht-e-Punjab’ and ‘Takht-e-Lahore’ by Pir Pagara during their Sindh visit on Tuesday.

Qaim Ali Shah pointed out that during the joint news conference Pir Pagara described Mr Nawaz Sharif (who was standing next to him on his left side) and Shahbaz Sharif (who was standing on his right) as Takht-e-Punjab and Takht-e-Lahore respectively.

Talking to a delegation of the PPP officebearers of Sindh, the chief minister thanked Pir Pagara for giving these titles to the Sharif duo which clearly demonstrates their credentials as pigmy politicians who are confined to Punjab and Lahore.

Qaim Ali Shah wondered how could the Sharif brothers do something good for the people of Sindh when their own allies from Sindh are making it known to all and sundry [by giving them titles of Takht-e-Punjab and Takht-e-Lahore. He said the Sharifs have a narrow vision and a limited political agenda which is confined to the province of Punjab alone.

The Sindh Chief Minister said the alliances Nawaz is making for Sindh in the upcoming general elections won’t help him bag even a single seat from Sindh because the people of Sindh know him quite well as a product of the Zia martial law who had abandoned Pakistan after striking an exile deal with General Musharraf in the hour of trial unlike Asif Ali Zardari who preferred to spend fourteen years in jail instead of compromising on principles.
