Project approved

HAFIZABAD
A sewerage and drainage scheme costing Rs162 million has been approved in the Annual Development Programme for improving longstanding sewerage and drainage problems in the eastern part of the city, said a meeting.
The project includes both the sides of Gujranwala Road from Jinnah Chowk to General Bus Stand, it added. Presided over by DCO Mansoor Qadir, the meeting was attended among others by Saeed Bhutta Executive Engineer Public Health Engineering Department, MPA Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan, Ex-MPA Haji Jamshaid Abbas Thaheem, ex-district nazim Malik Ali Ahmad Awan and District Officer (Cord) Noman Hafeez. The DCO said that the Punjab government had released Rs20 million as first installment for implementing the project. He also directed an executive engineer to start the project at the earliest after getting necessary approval by the provincial government.
