People are suffering great ordeal due to vacant posts of senior police officials at Sialkot as five key posts have been lying vacant for the last two years, creating problems for the general public and inordinate delay in dispensation of justice.

The posts of Additional SP Sialkot, DSP (Headquarters) Sialkot, DSP (Investigation) Sialkot and DSP (Special Branch) Sialkot are vacant. Police officials told newsmen that they had repeatedly brought the situation into the notice of senior police high-ups in Lahore but to no avail.

NEW EDU PROJECTS APPROVED: The Punjab government has approved a project of establishing science laboratories at three government high schools, and information technology laboratories at five government elementary schools located in the rural areas of Constituency NA 111.

The project is aimed to bring the far-off bordering village along the Sialkot Working Boundary under the network of advanced science and information technology. MNA Ch Armughan Subhani disclosed this while talking to newsmen at Variyo House Sialkot Cantt.

The MNA added that the science laboratories would soon be established at Govt Girls High School Bharath, Govt Girls High School Chaprar and Govt Girls High School Daallowali, while IT labs would be established at  Govt Elementary School Adalat Garh, Govt Girls Elementary School Badnal, Govt Elementary School Saahowali Chamrangaan, Govt Girls Elementary School Kotli Loharaan-East and Govt Girls Elementary School Miyani.

He said that the provincial government had also released special development funds for the purpose and construction work would start soon. Ch Abdul Sattar Variyo, former federal minister, MPA Ch Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Ch Khush Akhtar Subhani, former provincial minister and Sufi Muhammad Ishaq were also present.
