The participants of a meeting renewed their pledge to sacrifice even their lives for weeding out terrorism from the country and to defend every inch of the motherland.
The meeting of Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) was held at the Police Lines Sialkot. They added that under the present scenario, early restoration of public confidence in police was direly needed for promoting the good policing.
Addressing the meeting, District Police Officer Rai Ejaz Ahmed stressed a need for promoting good policing through developed contacts between public and police and ensuring easy access of everyone to the information. He said these steps may be helpful in promoting the good policing and restoring public confidence in police.
Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Mansur Ahmed said that the active cooperation between the police and public could help control crimes, establish durable peace in the society and eliminate terrorism.
besides, Sialkot International Airport Limited Chairman Malik Ashraf, District Bar Association (DBA) President Maqsud Ahmed Bhatti, Markazi Anjuman Tajraan President Mehar Ghulam, newly elected LB representatives, exporters, traders, lawyers, senior police officials and local notables also attended the meeting.
On the occasion, four policemen Zahid, Asad Iqbal, Fahad Ameen and Sher Ali won Umrah tickets offered by the police as a special prize for their good performance in their official duties. The DPO also announced Rs180,000 cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police parties for their good performance.
Work at housing scheme afoot: Work is underway at “Punjab CM’s 3 Marla Housing Scheme” under which the government would allot 1,259 plots to deserving poor in Pasrur tehsil.
A district administration officer said that in the first phase, the housing scheme has only been launched in Pasrur tehsil where the district administration would start collection of applications from March 15, 2016 and the process will continue for a month till April 15.
He said that the plots would be allotted to the deserving applicants on 10 easy instalments. He added that under this scheme for the poor and low-income people, 1,152 plots have been allocated for the general public under its 90 percent fixed quota, 38 plots for the defence personnel, disabled and policemen’s 3 percent special quota.
He also directed the Daska assistant commissioner to search a suitable place in Daska for launching the scheme.
On the occasion, Raheel Akhtar, Deputy Director Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency Gujranwala Division, said that the construction of different development works including roads infrastructure and boundary walls were briskly underway in this housing scheme.
