Four outlaws were killed allegedly by their accomplices in separate shootouts occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
In Kasur, two outlaws were killed allegedly by their accomplices when their ambushed a police escorting the accused to a hideout here on Friday.
DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi informed that the Ellahabad Police arrested an accused identified as Abdul Jabbar alias Jabarri with illegal weapon. Duirng interrogation Jabarri, who had been involved in more than 15 cases of robbery, theft and carrying illegal weapons, informed about the location of his gang members near Korye Sial. The police along with the accused moved towards the pointed place. However, on the way, three accomplices of the arrested accused attempted to get Jabbari released and resorted to indiscriminate firing. Resultantly, Jabbari was killed and another accused who came to get him released got critical gunshot wounds. The police shifted the injured dacoits to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The DPO claimed that both the accused were killed from the firing of his accomplices who attempted to get Jabbari freed from the police custody. The DPO said that the other dacoit was identified as Zakir alias Razak who had been involved in more than 56 cases of car theft in District Lahore. The police recovered a pistol from the spot.
In Bahawalnagar, a proclaimed offender was allegedly killed by his accomplices during crossfire with the police, while three others managed to escape. The incident occurred here in the remit of Takht Mahal police late the other night. Police said that four outlaws were busying looting citizens riding a car near Kikri Jhandeka in the limits of Takht Mahal Police after mid night.
Meanwhile, the police alerted by someone, rushed to the spot. On seeing the police, the outlaws opened firing, which the police retaliated and a brief shootout took place. As the firing subsided and the police went forward, they found one the outlaws killed by his three accomplices who made good their escape from the scene. The police also impounded a car and recovered a rifle from the deceased outlaw.
Later the outlaw was identified as Zahoor Dhuddi alias Zahori, a resident of Mandi Sadiq Ganj. The police said that 19 cases of different crimes had registered against him and was wanted by police of different areas. The police have registered a case and started search for the runaway outlaws.
In Muzaffargarh, a notorious dacoit was allegedly killed in a shootout with police the jurisdiction of Rohillanwali Police, Tehsil Jatoi, some 65-km from here the other day.
According to DPO Awais Ahmed Malik, three dacoits were looting a citizen namely Muhammad Jamil who was on the way to Wasanday Wali on a motorcycle. As he reached near Mauza Ghazanfar Garh Darakt Barrai, three dacoits stopped him. The accused robbed the man who later managed to call the police. The police rushed to the scene and began search for dacoits. Meanwhile dacoits opened fire on the police which the later retaliated and a shootout ensued that lasted for more than an hour. As a result, a dacoit later identified as Qadir Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Galawal, District Lodran. The police said that the dacoit was killed by the firing of his accomplices who fled the scene. The DPO claimed that Qadir was wanted by the police in various cases along with his accomp0lices Zulfiqar alias Zulfi and Shahzad, son of Ghulam Rasool. The DPO said that the police also seized a pistol, two motorcycles from the spot. He said that Qadir had been involved in the murder of constable Rashid. The police have registered a case and shifted the dead body to DHQ Hospital Muzaffargarh.
