ISLAMABAD - Pakistan yesterday welcomed the agreement reached between Russia and the United States for cessation of hostilities in Syria commencing from today.
In a statement issued on Friday about the Syrian crisis, the Foreign Office Spokesman said Pakistan has always maintained a principled position on Syria based on neutrality, impartiality and respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria.
 He, however, said Pakistan remained concerned over the humanitarian crisis and stressed the urgent need to address the refugee crisis.
The spokesman appreciated efforts of the International Syria Support Group and wished for the success of the agreement.
