DHA National Junior Badminton reaches semis stage

LAHORE - The DHA National Junior Badminton Championship 2022 reached the semifinal stage as the quarterfinals of the different age group categories in the event were decided here at the Capt Fasih Babar Amin (Shaheed) Sports Complex, Phase 6, DHA.
On the second day of the event, Amer Hassan Janjua (ISB), Najam Ul Saqib (KP), Fahad Khan (KP), and M Ahmad (PB) reached the U-15 boys singles semifinals. In boys U-17 singles, M Hashir (KP), M Zaid (KP), Sanwal Shafiq (PB), and Umer Farooq (KP) reached the semifinals. In women’s singles U-17, Ammarah Ishtiaq (Sindh), Aiman Fatima (PB), Kanzul Eman (ISB) and Mariyam Hanif (Sindh) qualified for the semifinals. M Afnan (KP), Raja Hassan (New Khan), Hamza Khan (KP) and Abdullah Siddiqui (Sindh) reached the U-19 men’s singles event. In the women’s singles U-19, Miss Alja Tariq (Bal), Umama Usman (Army), Sana Hanif (Sindh) and Sumiya Tariq (Army) reached semifinals.
In men’s doubles U-19 quarterfinals, Saad Amir/Raja Hassan beat Sohail Javed/Ibrahim Tahir by 21-12, 21-18, Hamza Khan/M Afnan beat Abdullah Hashmi/Rehan Ullah by 21-16, 21-12, Haris Fareed/Rai Abdul Manan beat Ibrahim Rasheed/Adnan Hafeez by 21-13, 21-10 and Fayyaz/Abdullah beat Mahad/Abdullah by 21-6, 21-19.
In boys singles U-15 quarterfinals, Amer Hassan Janjua (ISB) beat Ahmad Zaman (Pb) by 21-11, 21-10, Najam Ul Saqib (KP) beat Shahab Khan (KP) by 21-19, 21-17, Fahad Khan (KP) beat Ali Danish (Sindh) by 21-9, 21-11, M Ahmad (Pb) beat Hamza Waseem (Pb) by 22-20, 21-11.
In boys singles U-17 quarterfinals, M Hashir (KP) beat Malik Ghasif (Pb) by 21-15, 21-14, M Zaid (KP) beat Ahmad Niazi (Pb) by 21-10, 21-14, Sanwal Shafiq (Pb) beat Abdullah Hashmi (Sindh) by 10-21, 21-19, 21-17, Umer Farooq (KP) beat Faizan Asim (New Khan) by 11-21, 21-18, 24-22.
In girls singles U-17 quarterfinals, Ammarah Ishtiaq (Sindh) beat Marwa Jadon (KP) by 21-11, 21-9, Aiman Fatima (Pb) beat Sarwat Fatima (Bal) by 21-9, 21-23, 21-17, Kanzul Eiman (ISB) beat Tayyaba Shafiq (Pb) by 21-15, 21-8, Mariyam Hanif (Sindh) beat Sapna (KP) by 21-10, 21-19. In women’s doubles U-19 quarterfinals, Alja Tariq/Sumiya Tariq beat Mariyam Hanif/Hiba Tariq by 21-7, 21-9, Kanzul Eman/Sarwat Fatima beat Zainab Ch/Hadiqa Aftab by 21-14, 21-13, Sana Hanif/Musfira Zahid beat Imama Khuram/Tayyaba Shafiq 21-11, 21-15 and Ammarah Ishtiaq/Umama Usman beat Marwa Jadon/Sapna by 21-7, 21-7.
In women’s singles U-19 quarterfinals, Alja Tariq (Bal) beat Farwa Jawa (Pb) by 21-5, 21-5, Umama Usman (Army) beat Musfira Zahid (Sindh) by 21-11, 21-16, Sana Hanif (Sindh) beat Zainab Ch (Pb) by 21-8, 21-13, Sumaiya Tariq (Army) beat Hadiqa Aftab (Pb) by 21-10, 21-4.
In men’s singles U-19 quarterfinals, M Afnan (KP) beat Fayyaz Ur Rehman (Sindh) by 21-19, 21-19, Raja Hassan (New Khan) beat Mekaeel Khan (KP) by 24-22, 21-16, Hamza Khan (KP) beat Saad Amir (Pb) by 21-14, 21-12, Abdullah Siddiqui (Sindh) beat Rai Abdul Manan (Army) by 22-24, 21-15, 21-10.
