A body without head

I would like to remind the PM and the other concerned authorities that Higher Education Commission is running without its chairman since the last head of the commission was sacked some months ago. The students seeking higher studies locally and internationally are very worried about the working of HEC and it not having a regular, full-time chairman at helm. The government is not doing anything because it thinks the situation is pulling along with out an appointee and all the departments are being looked after by their respective heads, so why bother with imposing someone upon them? I think the affairs of HEC would be better looked after if there is a fresh, competent and enthusiastic chairman appointed now. -ZULIFIKAR SAMI, Lahore, via e-mail, January 14.
