LAHORE - Opposing downsizing and privatization, the PREM Union has demanded that the federal government give a special bailout package to the Pakistan Railways. Addressing participants of a protest rally here on Wednesday, President Hafiz Salman Butt said that the rulers and corrupt administration, and not the employees, were responsible for the losses to the Pakistan Railways. The participants also staged a sit in at Boharwala Chowk to protest against any move to remove 20,000 employees. Hafiz Salman Butt said that the rulers would not be allowed to privatise rail network. He said that the employees would block rail traffic if the rulers resorted to such step. On this occasion Unions Senior Vice-President Sheikh Mohammad Anwar, Mehmoodul Ahad, Sagheer Ahmad Cheema, Qazi Abdul Wawood, Iftikhar Ali Khan and Khalid Ch also spoke.
