Brazil beat Ecuador 1-0 in U-20 qualifier

TACNA, Peru (Agencies) - Henrique's goal in the 24th minute gave Brazil a 1-0 victory over Ecuador on Tuesday that pushed Brazil further ahead in Group B of South American qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup. In other match of the day, Colombia defeated Bolivia 2-1. Camilo Franco scored in the 20th minute and Andres Escobar added the second in the 37th. Darwin Rios scored for Bolivia in the 56th. Brazil leads the group with 10 points and has already secured one of three passages from the group to the second round. Ecuador and Colombia have four points, Paraguay has three and Bolivia has one. The other two qualifiers will be decided Friday when Ecuador plays Bolivia and Colombia is against Paraguay. Argentina leads Group A with 10 points. The group's other two advancing teams will be decided on Thursday when Chile faces Venezuela and Peru plays Uruguay. Uruguay has four points, Chile and Venezuela have three and Peru has one. Second-round play begins Jan. 31 with the six teams playing each other once. The top four qualify for the U20 World Cup later this year in Colombia, and the top two get berths in the 2012 London Olympics.
