Colgate awards scholarship

KARACHI - Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan Ltd. continues to support oral health care awareness in educational institutes all around the country. A prize distribution ceremony was held Wednesday at Beaconhouse School System (Defense Campus). Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan Ltd. awarded Zeeshan Abbas, the winner of 'My Bright Smile Global Art Contest 2010/11, a scholarship amount of $250. Moreover, his winning artwork has been showcased in Colgates My Bright Smile Calendar 2010. Haiqa Bilwani, an honorary winner also from Pakistan received her participation certificate as well. Colgate 'My Bright Smile Global Art Contest is an effective platform to nurture and cultivate the skills of children from across the world. The contest falls under the umbrella of Colgates Oral Health Education Programme Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF). Pakistan has been participating and winning in this contest for nine consecutive years. From the smallest communities to the most populated urban centres, BSBF inspires children to take control of their own oral health. This Global Art Contest captures the true essence of the way one smile can make a difference For the past 13 years, 'My Bright Smile Global Art Contest has invited childrens drawings from allover the world -indeed a creative initiative that exhibits what their own bright smiles mean to them. Mrs Samina Mehmood, Principal of Beaconhouse School System (Defense Campus) addressed the event. In her address, she stated, Colgates 'My Bright Smile Global Art Contest is a wonderful way to identify hidden talents within our children. Its a great platform to globally connect our children with the rest of the world. With the overwhelming response to the Global Art Contest each year, Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan Ltd. plans to continue such skill building activities to encourage a new generation of artists to globally showcase their culture and develop their creativity and confidence. In continuation of this successful campaign, Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan Ltd is pleased to announce that the 'My Bright Smile Global Art Contest 2011/12 is now open for entries from children ages 6-9 years. Deadline for submission for this years contest is February 28th 2011.
