LAHORE - The heirs of victims of car race incident, which took place in Phase-8 of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, last year, appeared in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Iqbal in Rawalpindi the other day and got their statements recorded. They pleaded to the judge to acquit the accused nominated in the FIR. According to details of the case, five spectators were killed and two children wounded when a car ran over them after the driver lost his control during a car race on December 5, 2010. The heirs of the deceased stated before the court that Chief Executive Bahria Town Ahmad Ali Riaz, Senior Manger Security Col (retd) Rafaqat Hussain and Senior Manager Marketing Waleed Aman had nothing to do with the case and were innocent. They further stated that neither had they shown negligence nor they were responsible for the mishap. The heirs including Lt-Col (retd) Javed Iqbal, Kausar Javed, Samar Munir, Tahira Qaisar, Umar Ali Khan, Faruq Azam, Uzma Suhail and Samar Babar appeared before the court and stated that Chief Executive Bahria Town Ahmad Ali Riaz, Senior Manger Security Col (retd) Rafaqat Hussain and Senior Manager Marketing Waleed Aman were innocent and should be exonerated from the case.
